Most travelers I’ve met want to be aware of the security situation at their destination, but don’t know which trusted source to turn to for information. This article will point you in the right direction and explain how to get customized security alerts for free.
First, we recommend signing up for the US State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment program. We explain it step-by-step here. Once you do, you’ll receive customized cautions, advisories, or warnings based on the countries you selected as being among your destinations.
