Airbnb is seeing the biggest spike in stays in the nature lodges category. Those requests are up 700%, the home-sharing hosting service said in a release.
Ryokan lodging options are spiking 600% and yurts have seen a sharp 155% growth.
Food experiences are the most popular so far at Airbnb, edging out music-related experiences.
Based on its rental and lease data, Airbnb says the most popular cities for 2018 are:

Lonely Planet, a company that sells world-famous guide and tour books, said its top countries for 2018 span the globe, with no particular region outpacing any other.
Its top pick for countries “you need to visit” in the new year is Chile, in South America.
“From its disparate extremes to the ever-trendier capital of Santiago at its heart, the country’s citizens will unite in 2018 to mark 200 years of independence. Thanks to new non-stop flights from both London and Melbourne, it’s never been easier to catch a plane, raise a glass of pisco sour and toast the celebration,” Lonely Planet said in bestowing its first-place honor.
Chile is “isolated from the rest of South America” by the Andes to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Atacama Desert to the north, and Patagonia wilds to its south.

After Chile, South Korea ranked as Lonely Planet’s second-best destination for 2018.
The guide experts noted the country “is a compact playground of Asian modernity” that will host the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
