WASHINGTON (TVR) – Short trips with lots of sun.
That’s the gift most North American travelers want this holiday season, according to a new analysis by Sojern’s Global Travel Insights Report.
The top December travel trends mostly involve destinations in warm-weather climates for trips up to three days, although New York City was the exception; the Big Apple is the top destination searched for travel over the holidays—the only location in the north.
The highest share of travelers plan to depart on a Friday, both for short-haul and long-haul travel.
And the vast majority of travelers—73%—are planning to travel by themselves, perhaps to meet up with family or a larger group.
