WASHINGTON (TVR) – Despite a new travel warning and recent terror attacks in London, Brussels, and Barcelona, air traffic to Europe airports surged this summer, coming during the all-important heart of the summer travel season.
The numbers released for July by ACI EUROPE, the European airport trade body, showed an “impressive” increase of 9.6% in passenger traffic.

It’s being viewed as a strong vote of confidence by tourists who have not yet been rattled enough by recent attacks to alter their plans.
“This performance is mainly attributable to the continued momentum in economic expansion, especially in the Eurozone, as well as contained oil prices and the return of stronger demand for air services in Russia and Turkey,” ACI said in its report of Europe airports.
